Three PhD-students from the LMU-part of the Munich GeoCenter win prizes in a photographic competition

In the photographic competition of the LMU Graduate Center first, fourth and fifth prize went to PhD-students from the Munich GeoCenter. Julia Linder, Geophysics, won the first prize and 300 € for a picture of herself in front of a steep wall of basaltic columns in an ancient volcano in Ecuador where she retrieved samples for her work on the magnetic polar wander in the Cretaceous. Malik Naumann, GeoBioCenter, and Andreas Laumann, Mineralogy, received non-cash prizes for their pictures from a coral reef and the synthetisation of electrode-materials for accumulators.
