Prof Don Dingwell is rewarded a research professorship under LMUexcellent

LMUexcellent received funding under the third funding line "concept for the future" of the "Excellence Initiative by the German Federal and State Governments to Promote Science and Research at German Universities". The LMU was one of three German universities which was granted "Elite" status and the additional funding in the first round. Professor Don Dingwell, Chair of Mineralogy/Petrology and Head of Department, is one of the first recipients to receive extra funding which will allow him to take time off from teaching to free time to concentrate on research for year.
