2. Purpose of the processing

Munich GeoCenter website, provides you the opportunity to subscribe to our Weekly Seminars newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is to inform the subscribers of the list of upcoming seminars for the week every Monday. The personal data including Salutation, Title, Name, Institution and E-Mail Address are taken from the subscriber through the input portlet designed for this purpose. The newsletter will be sent from the first Monday after the subscription as long as you remain subscribed.

Receiving the Munich GeoCenter’s newsletter is only subject to your subscription with a valid e-mail address. For legal reasons, subscription is done through a double opt-in procedure which means that a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you provided for the first time through the subscription process . This confirmation e-mail is used to prove whether the owner of the e-mail address is you and authorized to receive the newsletter.

3. Legal basis for the processing

Your personal data collected as part of a registration for the newsletter will only be used to send our newsletter and they will not be subject to any other processing. In addition, you may be informed by e-mail, as long as this is necessary for the operation or modifications of the newsletter service or in case of a change in technical circumstances.

4. Recipients or categories of recipients

The personal data will be only used to send automatically generated e-mails to inform you of the upcoming seminars every Monday morning. There will be no transfer of your personal data collected by the newsletter service to third parties.

5. Storage Period

Your data will be stored as long as you will be subscribed.

6. Rights of the data subject

You can terminate your subscription to our newsletter at any time. The consent to the storage of your personal data, which you have given for sending the newsletter, may be revoked at any time. For the purpose of revocation of consent, a corresponding link is found in each newsletter. It is also possible to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time directly on the website through the same portlet used for subscription, or by communicating this to the controller.
